A Story of Transformation: Dorcas Center  is Inspired by Acts 9:36-42

In the bustling town of Joppa, there lived a disciple named Dorcas, known also as Tabitha. She was renowned not just for her faith but for her acts of compassion, making garments for the widows and the poor. Day by day, she dedicated her life to lifting the burden of those in need, using her skill with needle and thread as a means of sharing God’s love in a tangible way.

The Apostle Peter, who was nearby, was called to Joppa. When he arrived, he saw the garments Dorcas had lovingly made and heard stories of her generosity and faith. Moved by her dedication to helping others, Peter knelt, prayed, and then, through the power of God, brought Dorcas back to life. This miracle wasn’t just about restoring her life—it was a testament to the faith that had been planted and blossomed within her community. Her compassion had already touched many, and her resurrection deepened their faith in God’s power and love.

One day, however, sorrow struck the community—Dorcas fell ill and died. The widows and townspeople gathered around, grieving for the woman who had been a light in their lives, showing them God’s love through every stitch she sewed and every garment she gifted.
